Digital cameras allow much more latitude in photographing star trails than the film days.  Many of the old rules no longer apply.  You no longer have to look for dark places to take the super long exposures needed to get longer star trails without blowing out the background.  Digital cameras and post processing allow a great latitude in the lighting conditions you can photograph star trails, including very dark places to urban and city settings.

This talk will cover equipment, methods, techniques, planning, exposures, and post processing for photographing star trails.   The talk will be in two parts: How to get the images and a demonstration of post processing.
